Obituary of Jean Ann Reichert

Jean Ann Reichert (Braun), 75, was born on January 17, 1943 in Bradford, PA.  She died on October 26, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Braun.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Paul Reichert on June 15, 1991.

 

Jean graduated from Hamot School of Nursing in August 1963.  She spent the majority of her nursing career at the Presbyterian Homes.  She began her career at Presbyterian Lodge in November of 1980 and elevated herself to Director of Nursing at Presbyterian Lodge where she worked for many years.  Jean semi-retired and went to work at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge in April of 2004 where she fully retired on May 30, 2009.

 

She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.  The joy of her life was her ten grandchildren.  She loved to read and knit.  She also thoroughly enjoyed doing water aerobics with her friends.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church for close to 50 years.

 

Jean is survived by her brother Cliff (Judy) of Stanardsville, VA.  She is also survived by her 3 sons, Jeffrey Paul (Jennifer) of Owings, MD, Timothy Carl (Nadeen) and Thomas Richard (Jennifer) both of Erie, PA.  She is also survived by ten grandchildren Richard, Anthony, Chandalyn, Kourtney, Timothy (Phoebe), Brandi, Casey, Ryan, Katie, and Taylor.  She also is survived by two great friends who were a huge support in the last few months Kay Popovich and Joyce Ring.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Rothman and his staff at the Regional Cancer Center, the staff at Asera Care Hospice, and the staff at Interim Healthcare for their support.

 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and are invited to a prayer service there on Friday morning at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
