Obituary of Elene Papanikos

Elene Papanikos age 58, of Granada Hills, CA, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2018.  She was born in Erie on July 31, 1960 a daughter of the late, Konstatinos “Taki” and Mary Flengas Papanikos.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy and her nephew, Loren.

Elene was a 1978 graduate of McDowell High School, she attended the University of Tampa, Gannon University and graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  In 1988 she packed up her car and moved by herself to Los Angeles.  She previously worked at Hollywood Rentals and was currently employed with Illumination Dynamics as a Controller.  She was a valued associate at Illumination Dynamics and formed many meaningful and rich relationships with her co-workers.  She will be greatly missed by her “West Coast” family.   Elene was an avid sports fan and a diehard fan of the Miami Dolphins and Tom Brady.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping and trips to Vegas.  Elene loved dogs, especially Golden Retrievers and was anxiously waiting retirement when she could finally adopt her Golden.    

She is survived by one sister, Maggie (Randy) Papanikos Wiler; one brother, Bill (Sharon) Papanikos and three nieces, Nicole, Kaylyn and Anna.  Elene is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of sharing at 12:00 noon.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
