Obituary of Donna Rose Kunco

Donna Rose Solomon Kunco, 75, of Summit Township, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Donna was born on November 1, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph and Sarah Solomon. Donna was a proud navy wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her high school sweetheart, Ronald J. Kunco whom she has been married to for 55 years. She was a homemaker and doting mother to her sons Ron, Jr. and Jerry.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Stofko and her brother, Joseph Solomon. 

Donna was Eucharistic Minister and a Religious Education teacher for many years at Assumption Catholic Church in Bellevue, PA. She continued to teach Religious Education at Our Lady of Peace after her move to Erie in 2004. She was an avid gardener and was known for her green thumb. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed crocheting afghans for everyone she knew. She was a wonderful grandmother who spent countless hours teaching, playing with and caring for her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Kunco, Jr. and his wife, Jessica of Erie and Gerald Kunco and his wife, Lori of Millcreek, and two nieces Michelle Stofko and Joanne Pieto and her husband Philip. She leaves six grandchildren to cherish her memory, Jeremy, Julia, Adam, Sarah, Amanda and Rachel. She is further survived by her many loving cousins.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Thursday, November 29^th from 2:00–4:00pm and 6:00–8:00pm and are invited to a prayer service there on Friday, November 30^th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church 2401 West 38th St. at 10:00 am.  Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
