Obituary of Geraldine P. Granahan

Geraldine P. Sturgeon Granahan, age 96, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of the late Ezra W. and Margaret Caldwell Sturgeon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas K. Granahan, whom she married in June of 1945; also, her brother Robert James Sturgeon, sisters; Pauline Wright and Doris Salzer.

She is survived by two sons; Thomas G. Granahan (Nancy), Gerald Granahan (Sun Min), and two daughters; Judith Rimdzius (Bernard), and Linda Luthringer (Dale), ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She and her husband Tom were active members for many years with the Westminster Figure Skating Club and members of a square-dancing group in Erie.  They traveled throughout the US and Canada.

Geraldine was always active in her church, Elmwood Presbyterian, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Private arrangements and burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
