Irene “Dolly” E. Spinelli Bien

 

 

Irene “Dolly” E. Spinelli Bien, age 89, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Erie on January 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Gitano B. and Mary DeLuca Spinelli.

Dolly was a 1947 graduate of East H.S. where she performed in the band. She was an office clerk at American Meter for 38 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, the Elk’s Club Drum and Bugle Corp, the Erie Keynotes Drum and Bugle Corp, and was very musical; playing a variety of instruments.  She also enjoyed knitting.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother John Spinelli.  She is survived by one son Jerome “Jerry” Bien (Judith) of Erie, one sister Rosemarie Lamar of Leesburg, FL, and her companion of 30 years Joe Letizo of Erie.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited there on Monday, December 31, 2018 for the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 1626 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16508
