Obituary of Marilyn R. Petri

Marilyn R. Petri, age 89 of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday December 27, 2018 at the Village at Luther Square. She was born in Erie on December 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth (Kraut) Fish. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald G. Petri, in 2016.

 

Marilyn was a co-owner and bookkeeper for the family’s business, Kitchens by Meade. She volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels with her husband Don. Marilyn enjoyed reading, cards, politics, needlepoint and was always very active with family and life-long friends.

 

She is survived by her children, Diane Canfield (Nolan), Rick Petri (Doreen), Sharon Bannon (Kevin) and Katie Petri Rathers. Further survived by nine grandchildren, Jennie Vaughn (Jake), Andrew Canfield (Heather), Michael Canfield (Shelley), Sarah Petri, Lindsay Petri Tomes (Jeremy), Jessica Walters (Matt), Kaylin Keller (Jeff), Abby and Jack Rathers; and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
