Kenneth Vincent Sullivan
Kenneth Vincent Sullivan, age 81, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in North Royalton, OH after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Erie, PA on June 30, 1937, Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth Dahn Sullivan; his daughter, Laura Ann Sullivan; and six siblings.
Ken graduated from Academy High School (’55) in Erie and served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest College and worked as an accountant/controller for White Consolidated Industries for most of his career. Ken was an active member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with his family and particularly enjoyed family vacations in Duck, NC. Ken had a lifelong love of baseball and possessed an encyclopedic memory of baseball history. In later years, Ken developed a keen interest in American presidential history. He and his wife, Lois enjoyed travelling to historic sites and national parks throughout the United States. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring husband and father and a faithful Christian who always stood in solidarity with the world’s most poor and vulnerable people.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Owens Sullivan; children, Michael (Ady) Sullivan, Elizabeth (Sean) McAllister, Jennifer Sullivan, and Kathryn Sullivan; brother, Larry (Louise) Sullivan; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ken Sullivan will take place at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA 16506 on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9201 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, OH 44141, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s name to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brecksville.
