Obituary of Lola J. Krahnke

                                               Lola J. Shinafelt Krahnke

Lola J. Shinafelt Krahnke, age 90, of Erie, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Forestview Healthcare Center at Springhill. She was born in Hollidaysburg, PA on May 30, 1928, daughter of the late William and Melda Waltz Shinafelt.

Lola had been employed at the former Loblaws as head cashier. She taught Sunday School for 20 years and was the financial recorder at Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a member.

Lola is survived by one daughter, Susan Nielsen (Richard); two sons, Stanley Krahnke Jr. (Melinda), and David Krahnke (Vicki); five grandchildren, Jenne LaPlaca (Robert), Erik Nielsen (Jean), Dr. Jason Krahnke (Shawie), Gina Krahnke, and Allison Harriss (Jordan); former daughter-in-law, Debbie Krahnke; eight great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Andrew, Liam, Logan, Myla, Gavin, Olivia, and Ella; and many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Stanley Krahnke, who passed away in 2000.

The family would like to thank the staff at Forestview for the wonderful care given to Lola.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Sunday from 5 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 pm, conducted by Rev. Ronald Geisler. Private interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1022 Liberty Street, Erie, PA  16502.
