Obituary of Gary Paul Abatta

Gary Paul Abatta, age 63, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 20, 2019 at UPMC-Hamot Hospital.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 11, 1955, a son of the late John and Emma (Mamross) Abatta.

Gary graduated from Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.  He was a local pharmacist for many years and also a professor at Great Lakes Institute of Technology.  Gary was an avid horse racing fan.  

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bari-Lynn Abatta; two sons, Tyler John Abatta (Abigail Weise) and Jate Alexander Abatta, and one grandson, Eli Gideon Abatta all of Erie. 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of the Blessing Service at 7:00 pm.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
