Obituary of James Clouser
James (Jim) Clouser, age 74 of Quincy, Florida and formerly of Millcreek Twp., passed away November 8, 2018 after a long struggle with COPD. He was born in Erie on April 30, 1944 to John and Marge Clouser.
Jim graduated from McDowell High School and then Williamsport Technical School for Mechanics. He proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany and California. After his honorable discharge he worked for Penelec as a lineman, steam department meter reader and master mechanic in the garage. Jim retired from there in 2003 after 35 years of service. He was a self-accomplished carpenter and craftsman building his own home. Jim enjoyed working with the Junior Bowling League and was a Boy Scout leader, but his biggest joy was working on cars, especially his ’55 Chevy that he fully restored and showed at car shows. He also enjoyed working in his large train layout for HO Trains.
Left to his memory his devoted wife Mary, the love of his life for almost fifty years; children, Heather (Tom) McFarland, Bill Clouser, Debbie (Jim) Schwenk and John Clouser; grandchildren, Tom Statkun, Becky (Jake) Little, Jessie McFarland, Tim Clouser, Sarah and Ethan Schwenk and Tyler Clouser and one great-grandchild, Levi Little. Jim is further survived by cousins, Jack (Ruth) McLeod of Dover, PA, Gary (Christa) Clouser of Germany, Sue (John) DeBellis of Arizona, Karen (Frank) Dachtyl of McKean, Noel (Tom) Dean of Tennessee and Doris Czerwinski of Erie; two brothers-in-law, Dick (Bette) Talbot and Jim (Mary) Talbot, all of Florida and their families.
Special thanks to Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee, Florida and his nurse Becky Lloyd who gave such wonderful support and care.
