Obituary of Duane Anthony Schultz

Duane Anthony Schultz, 67, died unexpectedly on February 13, 2019.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cheryl Ward-Schultz, daughters Lisa Schultz and Andrea (Andrew) Schultz Coyle, three grandchildren, Andrew Schultz, Ryan Coyle, and Alexa Coyle, sisters Evelyn Mihok and Mary Frances Schenley, brother Nathan (Cheryl) Schultz, brother’s in-law Michael (Susan) Will and Scott Will, sister in-law Mary Beth Will, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillianne Schultz, and brother Mark Schultz.

Duane was a Master Electrician and was an electrical contractor in the Erie area for over 40 years. He was a naturally gifted mechanic and could be counted on to fix just about anything. Intelligent and curious, he loved to read, try new things, and engage in conversation. Those who knew him well are aware that the world has lost a true and loyal friend, a lively party host, an amazing cook, and a connoisseur of naps. The fish of Lake Erie have lost a great adversary, and those lucky enough to receive the vegetables he grew and generously gave away will miss his amazing gardening skills.

Duane was a loving and supportive husband to his wife. He was a wonderful father to his girls, and was always there when they needed help, advice, or just a hug. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. He was also a true friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, February 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., with Blessing Service immediately following.
