Obituary of Helen Dubane

Helen J. Sigmond Dubane Helen J. Dubane, age 92, of Erie and Palmetto Bay, FL, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born in Erie on January 8, 1918, the daughter of the late, John A. and Helene Meyers Sigmond. She was employed at Halle Brothers as manager of the children's department for many years. Helen enjoyed her family, holidays (especially decorating, family gatherings, and especially Christmas in July), cooking, ethnic festivals and their food, fashion, and shopping. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Harry F. Dubane, one loving daughter, Denise Dubane, two sisters, Lillian Sipple, Nancie Stowe (Roger), god-children; Heidi Sipple Reyburn and Dr. Mark Stowe, many nieces, nephews, and her precious dog, Su Ling. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John (Jack) and Donald Sigmond and a great grand- nephew, Justin Sipple. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until a prayer service at 12:15 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th St. at 1:00 p.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
