Obituary of Lawrence Edinger

Lawrence B. Edinger Lawrence B. Edinger of Summit Twp. entered his eternal rest, Saturday, June 14, 2008. He was born on July 2, 1938 in Mansfield, OH to his beloved parents, Clyde and Ferne Smalley Edinger. The family settled in Erie and Larry attended Gannon University after graduating from East High School in 1956. He was employed by Loblaws as a young man and later became Manager of Dodge Reports, a division of McGraw Hill, where he met the love of his life, Angela Montagna Quick. They were married on December 4, 1971 and moved to Lexington, KY where he was Executive Sales Manager for Blood Horse Publications. He retired in 1991 and returned to Erie in 2001. Larry was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Angela, for twelve years until her death in October 2007. He was an example of integrity to everyone who knew him and respected by his entire family for his devotion. He was a life-long avid fan of the Cleveland Indians-a passion he shared with his nephews, Larry and David King. Larry and his family attended Gardenside Christian Church for many years while living in Lexington and became an active member of First Alliance Church after moving back to Erie. In addition to being preceded in death by his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a stepbrother, Donald Edinger. His only son, Larry J. Edinger and his wife, Jenny, of Indianapolis, IN, survive him. Three stepdaughters also survive him: Angela Porfilio (Herb Heher), Debra Lewis and Cheryl Pepicello (Tony), all of Erie. He is survived by his sisters: Patricia King, Connie Rovny (George), Sandra Biggey, and brother, Richard Edinger (Donna). Larry leaves behind his grandchildren: Cody, Cameron, and Max Edinger of Indianapolis, Frank Lewis (Debbie), Angela and Allise Pepicello of Erie. Many nieces, nephews, and great-grandson, Joseph Lewis, will miss him. Long-time friends, Fran and Beverly Hart, Dick Wood and Charlie Kent will also miss him. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DUSCKAS-MARTIN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. and are inviting friends to the funeral service there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. conducted by his friend and Pastor, Dave Snyder, of First Alliance Church. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
