Richard D. Eger, Jr.
Richard "Dick" D. Eger, Jr., age 59, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Paris, France, on June 25, 1953, the son of Alice M. Glaspell Eger of Millcreek Twp. and the late Richard D. Eger, Sr.
He was a 1972 graduate of McDowell H.S. He was in the sign business for over forty years; completing his career at the Bartlett Sign Co. He was a member of the Erie Skeet Club; St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at his Titusville cabin.
Besides his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Jessica M. Kidd (Thomas) of Erie, one son, Derrick J. Eger (Jessica) of Harrisburg, PA, three grandchildren: Joshua, Elijah, and Willow Kidd, two brothers; Gary M. Eger (Tammy) of Erie, Les P. Eger (Karen) of NC, his best friend since grade school, Neil Hamblin, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 until time of service there at 8:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. David McIlvried. Private interment. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunt of a Life-time Foundation, PO Box 241, Harborcreek, PA 16421.
