Obituary of Gloria Engel

Gloria S. Engel Gloria S. Fagan Engel, age 85 of Millcreek Twp. and formerly Fairview Twp., died Thursday, July 30, 2009. She was born November 8, 1923 in Erie, a daughter of the late Richard P. and Margaret K. (Eller) Fagan. Gloria had been employed as an inspector by Perry Plastics prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family. Preceded in death by the true love of her life, Edward C. Engel, her beloved husband to whom she was married 58 years at the time of his passing on January 28 of this year. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Karen M. Bootes and her husband C. James of Millcreek Twp.; one sister, Phyllis Bootes and her husband Ronald; two grandchildren: Kimberly Mullen and her husband Daniel of Gibsonia, PA and Jeffrey Bootes and his wife Dawn of Summit Twp.; three great-grandsons: James and Joseph Mullen and Kyle Bootes; one step great-grandson, Gunnar Emberg and several nieces and nephews. Private services were held at the convenience of the Engel Family. Interment was made at the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Kanzius Research Fund, Palace Business Center, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501. Gloria's family would like to thank the staff and administrators of the Golden Living-Western Reserve for their gentle and compassionate care extended to both our Mother and Father during their final journeys.
