Mary Winifred Goodban Ames Mary W. Goodban Ames, age 84, a resident of Manchester Presbyterian Lodge, (formerly of Meadow Dr. and Home Rd.), passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010. She was born on July 9, 1926, at the Goodban Family Farm in Franklin Center. She was the daughter of the late Edward H. Goodban and Emma L. Newell Goodban. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Ames in 1995; three brothers: Harold, William Wayne, and Kenneth Goodban, and two sisters; Lucille Krautter and Esther Stellmach. She is survived by her sons: Alvin Ames (Kathy) of Erie, Gary Ames (Susan) of Lewisburg, PA, Neal Ames (Ginger) of Erie, and one daughter, Mary Ellen Ames Denton (Darrel) of Windsor, CO; grandchildren: Kevin Ames (Cindy), Megan Denton Petty (Jason), Amy Denton Lambert (Stephen), Emily Ames (fiancée, Peter Zadoretzky), David Ames (Margaret), and Nathaniel Ames; great-grandchildren, Jack and Madeline Petty, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a long time Millcreek resident. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, October 26, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Sterrettania Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA, 16501 Grimm Dr., Erie, PA 16501. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
