LaVera M. Engell

LaVera M. Engell, age 90, formerly of Millcreek Twp. was called to her heavenly home Monday, April 2, 2012 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was born in Erie on June 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Julius T. and Grace Lines Engell.

She was a graduate of Academy High School and graduated from The Erie Commercial College. She loved to travel and in the 1940's she went across the country. She worked at Marx Toy Works and Ferrier Hardware.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred A. Hemme, and her brothers; Arthur and Wilmer L. Engell. She is survived by two brothers; Ellery E. (Charlotte) Engell of Millcreek, Lester (Jessie) Engell of Deltona, FL, sister-in-law, Lois E. Engell of McKean, and many nieces and nephews.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Memorial contribution may be made to the Erie City Mission, 1023 French Street, Erie, PA 16501.
