Obituary of Ruth L. Kroh

Ruth L. Kroh, 100 years old passed peacefully away from natural causes on Wednesday June 24, 2020, at Independence Court in Erie. She was born in Johnstown, PA on December 1, 1919 a daughter of the late, John and Rachel (Strong) Weary of Reynoldsville, PA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Arthur Kroh; one son, Gordon Kroh of Mayfield, OH and her siblings, Jack Weary, Jean Tudor, Sarah Wells and Emery Weary.
Surviving children include her son, Wilbert (Carol) Kroh; daughter, Sandra (Ted) Goldsmith all of Erie; daughter-in-law, Agnes Kroh of Mayfield, OH; daughter, Linda (Ron) Radio of Pittsburgh; sisters, Helen Saffel of Canton, OH, Marion Stelle of Falls Creek and sister’s-in-law, Blanche Weary of Brookville and Wilda Weary of Florida. Ruth is further survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She married her husband Arthur at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hormtown, PA. They moved to Meadville for numerous years and then relocated to Erie. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother. In her early years she enjoyed the beach, quilting, dancing, playing cards, entertaining family and friends, traveling and spending time at their cabin in Tionesta. She was very active in her church and was a member of the Perry Highway Hose Auxiliary and Summit Twp. Sr. Citizens.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506, on Saturday June 27, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Kimberly Hirsch of Lamb of God Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lamb Of God Lutheran Church, 606 E. 38th St. Erie, PA 16504.
