Obituary of Robert Hans Keiper

Robert “Bob” Hans Keiper age 80 of Erie, passed away peacefully at his home, following a two-year battle with cancer, on Tuesday December 15, 2020. He was born in Erie on August 31, 1940, a son of the late Hans R. and Cecelia E. (Schaeffer) Keiper. Bob grew up in Fairview and resided in Lake City and Girard for many years, before moving to Erie for the last 16 years. He worked at Hopkins Furniture, Gusky Remodeling, and Erie Foundry Co., among others as a machinist and construction worker. Bob retired from PHB Industries as a tool & die repairman. After retirement he worked at the Walmart in Harborcreek. Bob participated and helped his daughter’s promotional company spi Productions Inc. He was a beloved uncle and brother-in-law. Bob, was an Army Veteran, enjoyed music, playing guitar and accordion, he also loved animals and antique cars. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly G. Keiper; four children, Angela L. Keiper, Robert S. Keiper, Alfred J. Keiper, and Tracy C. Keiper, and two sisters, Gloria J. Shepard and Joyce C. Keiper. He is survived by one daughter, Amy C. Keiper, of Erie, PA and one cousin, William E. Keiper of Canandaigua, NY, as well as his five nieces. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and are invited to a funeral service there on Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. All CDC Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced and must be followed.
