Carol was very artistic, she enjoyed drawing and painting, playing piano and violin as did her mother. She enjoyed visiting with her friends, children and grandchildren and loved cats and cat sized dogs. Carol was always the center of attention; she was very funny and always helpful when able. She graduated from Academy High School with honors. Carol married Charley Aulenbacher in 1957 and they moved to Los Angeles, CA with relatives. In 1958 their first child was born Charles David Aulenbacher “Numero Uno”. The family then returned back to the Erie area in 1958 when Charley purchased a small farm from his father in Fairview. The family grew tomatoes for sale along side the road. In this location most of her family life happened, having Daniel in 1959, Betty in 1960 (one a year or thereabouts) Steven in 1964 and her fifth and final child Edward in 1970. Throughout the children’s youth and teen years, the family enjoyed camping, swimming and hiking at Cook Forest, Chapman Dam and other trips with the camper. Summer days were also spent at Walnut Creek and on the shore of Lake Erie at Presque Isle and Avonia Beach. During the late seventies and early eighties Carol worked at Aggies Pizza Shop, The Cabaret and Eduardo’s where she was a bartender and waitress. In 1984 she married Herbert Aulenbacher and moved to Carlisle, PA. As the years went on, she was unable to live unaccompanied and needed assisted living arrangements.
