Obituary of Robert Amon SR

Robert A. Amon, Sr. Robert A. Amon, Sr., age 84, of Erie, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Erie VA Medical Center. He was born in Summit Twp., the son of the late, Andrew P. and Alice M. Chase Amon. He was a life-long Erie resident. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Robert was co-owner of Amon Motel and was also employed at Johnson Controls for 43 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lawrence Lodge- Scottish Rite and St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice M. Zimmerman Amon, on October 14, 2010. He is survived by three sons: Robert A. Amon, Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Canadota Lake, Thomas R. Amon and his wife, Sue, of Titusville, Jeffrey A. Amon and his good friend, Paul, of McKean Twp., two sisters-in-law, Mary L. Kader "Mikey", of Millcreek and Gladys Zimmerman, of Wesleyville, four grandchildren: Randall Amon, Wendy Carson, Stephanie Fielding, Shannon McLallen; five great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of service there at 7:00 p.m. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
