Obituary of Rose Marie Costa Majeroni

Rose Maria Costa Majeroni Rose Marie Costa Majeroni, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her home in Erie, PA. Rose was born in Hilliards, PA on June 6, 1938 to the late Thomas Costa Sr. and Anna Maria (Massaro). Rose and her late husband Robert were well known restaurant owners of the Kearsarge and Colonial Kitchen Restaurants during the 1960’s through the early 1980’s. Rose then worked as a server at many local Erie restaurants, the last being the Oakwood Café for many years. She found joy be-friending the many patrons who frequented her tables. To this day, many approach family members saying how much they enjoyed her bright smile and missed seeing Rose at the Oakwood Cafe. When Rose was not working, she enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, listening to music, driving her prized red convertible Chevelle in the summer, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Her pride and joy in her later years was little Rocky, her Yorkie Terrier. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband Robert Majeroni and stepson Geoff Majeroni, and her many sisters and brothers: Clara, Becky, Josephine, Jenny, Lucy, Lena, Mary, Carmen, John, and Sam. She is survived by her brother Thomas Costa Jr. , her son David Costa (Gail Costa), her stepson Michael Majeroni and her grandchildren Robert Majeroni Jr., Cheryl Whitaker, Brent Majeroni (Brittany Majeroni), and Ryan Koerner. Rose will be missed by her sister-in-law Janice Barron and niece Rita Sarra, both of Erie and who both spent so much time with her always in fun and in need. She will also be missed by her brothers-in-law, Paul and Ron Majeroni, her many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 10th between 10am-12pm at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.,4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA 16506 with services conducted by Pastor Mike Bartlett immediately following. Private interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16505.
