Obituary of Marilyn R. Dennen

Marilyn R. Dennen, age 87, of Millcreek Twp., passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born in Fairview, PA on June 16, 1933, a daughter of the late, John E. and Evelyn (Rapp) Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don K. Dennen in 2017; stepson, Mark C. Dennen and one brother, Thomas Fitzgerald. Marilyn was a longtime employee of Eriez Magnetics. She was a member of the Professional Secretaries Association, the Red Hats by the Bay Erie, PA and the Red Hat Hi Steppers of Englewood, FL. She was a former member of Wayside Presbyterian Church. Along with her husband, they enjoyed being snowbirds in Englewood, FL, playing cards and traveling. Marilyn is survived by her children, Darcie (Warren) Dagenbach, Ivan (Kristine) Johnston, Michelle (John) McElhenny and Lisa (Matt) McElhenny; eight grandchildren, Katherine & Elizabeth Dagenbach, Leo & Maria McElhenny, Sean & Erin McElhenny and Hilary and Richard Dang; one great-grandchild, Orlando and one brother, John F (Margie) Fitzgerald. She is further survived by one stepdaughter, Dusty Dennen, one step daughter-in-law, Janet Dennen and five step grandchildren. Friends may call at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401 W 38th St. Erie, PA 16506, on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Private interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506.
