Monique Hull Ferrara
Monique Hull Ferrara of Erie, PA, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 while at home at the Regency at South Shore.
She was born on October 21, 1929 in Caen (Normandy) France to the late Marcel and Charlotte Marie. Monique faced many difficult times in her early years due to the Nazi occupation of France; ultimately living through D-Day. These things never defeated her, she always found the courage and strength to persevere. She was a gracious and classy lady.
Monique worked with the Social Service of France in Caen where she spent her time caring for orphaned babies post war. She would go on to work at Lazarus and Trasks; retiring from Carlisle in Erie. Monique, affectionately known as MeMe by her grandchildren, had a loving and caring heart. She focused on her family first; her proudest moments were the achievements of her children and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Arthur R. Hull, her second husband Patrick Ferrara, her son-in-law William “Bill” Griffith, her granddaughter Breanna Griffith, and an infant grandson Griffith.
She is survived by one sister Christiane Parazols of France, her daughter Francoise C. Griffith, her son Phillip C. Hull (Jane), four grandchildren: Bryan Myers of Arkansas, Justin Griffith (Dawn), Chris Hull (DeAnna), and Phylicia Vallier (Philip) of TN, nine great-grandchildren: Destiney Schleicher, Jayla Norton, Justin Griffith, Jr., Mason Griffith, Lakyn Myers, Miracle Froehlich, Ryder Hull, Dre Vallier, and Preston Vallier, one great-great granddaughter Baby West (due in two weeks), life-long friend Odette Sperry, as well as cousins, nieces, and their families in France.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until time of prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
