Obituary of Mark L. Fera

Mark L. Fera Mark L. Fera, age 64, of Millcreek Twp., passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 26, 1957 in Tallahassee, FL, the son of the late Gerald Fera and Mary Lou Kaufman O’Connell. Mark was employed at Contemporary Motor Car, GT Acura, and Tom’s Auto Body. He enjoyed his family, fishing, making things from wood, and enjoyed watching a good Western or Action movie on TV. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-parents; Laura Fera and Bob O’Connell, his father and mother-in-law Jean and Bill Swanson, a sister-in-law Valerie Pedersen, and two brothers-in-law; Greg Pedersen and Matt Piccolo. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Swanson Fera, married on June 2, 1979. Also surviving are his children: Mark Fera (Mallorie), Joe Fera, Anthony Fera (Meagan Struchen), three sisters: Linda Donofrio (Gary), Geri Heale (John), Tammy Piccolo, a sister-in-law Jean Wadding (Dave), one brother Carl Fera, two brothers-in-law Carl and Len Swanson, three grandchildren; Ashton, Mason, and Rylee. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service there at 3:00 P.M. Private interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UPMC Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501, the Erie Shriners Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505, or the charity of one’s choice.
