Obituary of Virginia R Lichtinger

Virginia R. Schmidt Lichtinger, age 94 of Summit Twp., passed away on Friday July 30, 2021, at Forestview Nursing Facility. She was born in Erie on August 30, 1926 a daughter of the late Harold W. and Ruth A. (Palmer) Schmidt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Lichtinger and one son Richard W. Lichtinger.
Virginia was a Cadet Nurse during WW II, earning her Registered Nursing license. She went on to work in that capacity at Hamot Hospital and later at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
She is survived by two children, Starr (Jim) Redmond and Michael (Gayle) Lichtinger; four grandchildren, Christie Lucas, Jim Redmond, Morgan Lockwood and Travis Lockwood and two great-grandchildren, Jimmy Lucas and Katie Lucas.
Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
