Phyllis B. Brandt Lindahl
Phyllis B. Brandt Lindahl, age 89, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born in Erie on May 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Nelson and Adda Young Brandt.
Phyllis married Gordon Myron Lindahl on April 30, 1954. She graduated from State Teachers College, Edinboro University in May, 1954, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught Kindergarten and was a substitute teacher in the elementary schools in Erie.
Phyllis loved music. She was the organist of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years and had several piano students. She sang in the Swedish Viking Choir in Jamestown, NY and also sang with the “Songbirds” in Florida during winter months. She enjoyed camping with the family, golfing, and caring for the family Cocker Spaniels.
Phyllis “wintered” in Florida many years with her husband Gordon who preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her sister Betty Shannon.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Kristine Balinski (Vincent), two sons; Robert Lindahl (Susan), David Lindahl (Susie), four grandchildren: Emma Lindahl, Erik Lindahl (Courtney), Ryan and Daniel Cooper, three great-grandchildren; Addilee Mae Lindahl, Brandon Bowen, Jack Cooper, one sister-in-law Diane McGranor, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Paul Arnone from Jamestown, NY.
A special thank you to the caregivers of LECOM Parkside Northeast Memory Unit for their wonderful and loving care from 2019-2021. Also, a special thanks to her caregivers from the VNA Hospice.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3108 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
