Obituary of Wayne G. Phillips, Sr.

Wayne G. Phillips, Sr. Wayne G. Phillips, Sr., age 89, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born on December 30, 1931 in Nansen, PA, the son of the late, Merton B. Phillips and Viola Silvis Phillips. He was employed at Gloeckler’s Refrigeration for over 50 years. He was a member of Weis Library United Methodist Church, a former member of the Erie/Crawford County Auxiliary Police Unit, and Paws and Squaws Square Dancing Group. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Peggy” Kahle Phillips in 2020, one sister Martha, two brothers; Fred and Merle, and a daughter-in-law Nada Phillips. He is survived by two children; W. Gordon Phillips, Jr. of Girard, Kristine Diehl (Lonny) of Kane, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday (today), August 24, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. Interment Weis Library Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Ridge Fire Dept., 3142 West Ridge Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
