Obituary of Daniel Stilwell Silverthorn

Daniel Stilwell Silverthorn Daniel Stilwell Silverthorn, age 84, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on September 16, 1936, the son of the late Burton S. and Catherine Waschle Silverthorn. Daniel graduated from McDowell H.S. and attended Gannon University. He served for eight years in the US Navy Reserve. Daniel worked for GE for 20 years until his retirement. He was an avid photographer and historian. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and genealogy. He was a faithful parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. Daniel was also a philanthropist, supporting more than 50 charities annually. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Karle (James) and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his brothers; Russell J. Silverthorn and Lee B. Silverthorn, and his nephew, Lee B. Silverthorn, Jr. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. A calling hour will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 11 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street. A Catholic Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
