Helen M. Johnson Miscichowski Foy
Helen M. Foy, age 84, of Edinboro, formerly of Van Camp Rd., McKean, went home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus on Monday, December 20, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in McKean on February 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Grant M. and Ella H. Petri Johnson.
She was employed at GE Canteen, Continental Rubber, Penn Brass Erie, and later was a full-time homemaker and caretaker of all the children. Her life revolved around her church, Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cranesville, where she served as an Elder and Sunday school and Bible teacher. She loved baking for her family and charities. She was widely known for her pies and desserts. She loved listening to gospel songs, gardening, flowers, camping, fishing, and walks in the woods. Helen vacationed in Canada, Mexico and the other 49 states. She walked the Grand Canyon twice, once with each of her sons and her husband, Ken. Annually she paid to supply Bibles around the world for memorials.
She was preceded in death by her first loving husband, John P. Miscichowski, one beloved son, David J. Miscichowski, one sister, Hazel Weidner and her husband, the Rev. Weidner, brothers: Charlie Guillford, Robert Johnson, Rev. Harold Johnson and his wife Mildred, James Johnson and his wife, Eleanor, and Elmer Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Foy, one beloved son, Gregory G. Miscichowski (Karen), one brother, William Johnson, sisters-in-law, Dot and Catherine Johnson, step-children: Martha Bucko, Debbie Foy, Daphne Kennedy (Dave), Denise Snyder (Dennis), Danielle Woytek (Alan), KC Foy (Debbie), grandchildren: Steve Waller (Aimee), Shiela Morton (Ron), Jeff Miscichowski, Jim, Michelle, Douglas, Donald, David (Wendy), Dustin, Drew, Becky, Kenneth, and Samara. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Jesica, Ronnie, Emma, Dominic, Aidynn, Cody, Garrett, and Clay.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., today (Wednesday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Dr. James Rimmer. Interment Sterrettania Cemetery.
