Obituary of Nancy Freeland

Nancy G. Freeland Nancy G. Freeland, age 81, of Millcreek Twp., died Thursday, April 7, 2011 after an extended illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 22, 1929 in York, PA, the daughter of the late, Paul and Reba Brenneman Goetz. She graduated from Newport Union High School in Newport, PA and then received her nursing degree from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was a practicing RN at the Poly Clinic in Harrisburg. Nancy was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of both West Lake Fire Department and American Legion Post #773. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, painting ceramics, canning, cooking, and playing cards with her daughters. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Stanley E. Freeland, three daughters: Claudia A. Lampman (John) of Linesville, PA, Julie King of Corry, Laurie McKelvey (Winston) of East Springfield, three sons: Stanley P. Freeland (Debbie), of Plateau, Garth F. Freeland (Tammie) of West Springfield, Brad A. Freeland (Debbie) of Millcreek, nineteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, Dr. Robert L. Goetz of Oak Harbor, WA, one daughter-in-law, Gina Freeland, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Bruce B. Freeland and one granddaughter, Kelly Jo Dever. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment. Memorial contribution may be made to The West Lake Fire Department 3762 West Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16505, or to the Regional Home Health and Hospice, 3526 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508.
