Obituary of Marjorie Ann Donahue

Marjorie Ann “Marge” (Schrimper) Donahue age 92, a resident of Spring Hill Retirement Center, passed away there on Tuesday January 25, 2022. She was born in Erie on December 28, 1929 a daughter of the late, Arthur W. and Irene R. (Haupt) Schrimper. She was the wife of Donald R. Donahue, whom she married on November 22, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2021. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Donald and Jane Schrimper; nieces, Rita Donahue and Lee Marie Calafato and nephews, Gary, Michael and Arthur Donahue III. Marge was a June 1948 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and earned her associate’s degree in Executive Secretarial at Thiel College in 1950. She began her employment at the then Pennsylvania Telephone Co., General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) that later merged with Verizon Communications, Inc. She retired from there in 1990. Marge was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Erie and the Albion Chapter #22, Order of the Eastern Star. Marge is survived by and was a “second mother” to a niece, Jenny (Schrimper) Sheehan and a nephew, Jonn Schrimper and their respective spouses, Michael Sheehan Kristin Schrimper. She is further survived by nephews, Patrick (Dorothy) and Robert Donahue and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday January 29, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service there at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Erie Cemetery
