Obituary of Thomas Mark Burkett

Thomas Mark Burkett, age 73 of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 28, 2022 at UPMC-Hamot Hospital. He was born in Erie on November 27, 1948, a son of the late Howard and Marion (Sokolowski) Burkett.
Before retirement Tom was the maintenance/property manager of Modern Tool Square and Tangelwood Apartments. He also owned and operated Burkett Painting for nearly twenty years. Tom enjoyed many things including, hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycles, history, collecting Civil and WW II war items and antique firearms. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, watching his son’s football games, his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He loved nature and anything outdoors.
Tom is survived by his wife Catherine (Madara) Burkett; three sons, Thomas, Timothy (Elise Graham) and Troy (Sharon) Burkett all of McKean; one daughter, Tammy (Dan) Waisley of Virginia; grandchildren, Joshua Kriebel, Autumn Burkett, Jacquelyn and Zachary Burkett, Alicia Kriebel, Daniel, Tanner and Sierra Waisley, Tatum and Liam Burkett of McKean; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Ashton and Tobi Kriebel and Syndel Newby. He is further survived by one sister, Denise Krawczyk of Erie; one brother, Brian Burkett of California and two nephews, Ryan and James Krawczyk.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and are invited to a Blessing Service there on Friday morning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Dunn Valley Cemetery.
