Obituary of George E Saunders

George E. Saunders, age 72 of Erie, passed away at AHN St. Vincent Hospital on January 29, 2022. He was born in Erie on November 15, 1949 a son of the late, Arthur and Edith (Bierre) Saunders Blose Bonkowski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl “Sandy” Saunders; sister, Mary Lou Hardin; two brothers-in-law, George Meucci and Louis Fargiorgio and three nephews, Bill and Bob Saunders and Tony Peterson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Deb (Pritchard) Saunders; two sons, George “Ed” and his wife Kelly and Steven “Butch” Saunders and two grandchildren, Nolan and Branden Saunders. He is further survived by his sisters, Carol Heatwole and her husband Brian, Judy Meucci and her partner Mike Smith, Sandra Lipchick and her husband Jack and Sue Fargiorgio; brother, Dwayne and his partner Darin Warren; sister-in-law, Patricia Saunders and many nieces and nephews. George worked for Asplundh Tree Co. for over twenty years and also had a business, Saunders Tree Service for a number of years. He would give a hand to anyone that needed it and as everyone knew he loved going to the casino. He was a good man with a good soul and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and all those who loved him. Per the wishes of George, no calling hours or services will be observed.
