Obituary of Annmarie Phillips

Annmarie Kaminski Phillips, age 65, a resident of Millcreek Township, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday March 15th 2022, after battling cancer for 5 years. She was born on August 25th 1956, the daughter of the late Chester and Genevieve Alexandrowicz Kaminski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law John Kerr. Annmarie was a 1974 graduate of Academy High School, and proceeded to further her education by graduating from Mercyhurst College in 1986. From 1986 until 2006 she worked as a Human Resource Manager at various local employment recruitment agencies. In 2006, she began working at People Scout (Aon Hewitt Consulting), where she excelled and soon became a supervisor before her illness ended her career. Annmarie was an excellent singer with a powerful voice. She was a member of the Award-Winning Academy High School Choir. She sang as a cantor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Our Lady of Peace Church where she was the first ever female cantor. Also, she was a member of the Philharmonic Choir and The Lake Erie Concert Choir. She was a passionate car enthusiast who enjoyed taking her 1993, 40th anniversary Corvette “Ruby” and 1976 Corvette “Magic” to local car shows. She was a member and the first female President of the Presque Isle Corvette Club. Annmarie loved all animals especially her Basset Hounds (Flash, Luke, Guinevere), her Yellow Labrador Kelly, grand puppy Monte and Vlad the German Sheppard. She loved to dress her Basset Hounds in fancy costumes and take them to Slobber Fest, a Basset Hound Rescue event. She immersed herself in hobbies such as Photography, Gardening, Sewing, and creating custom Doll Clothing. Annmarie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going camping with her family at Kelley’s Island and decorating her home during the holiday seasons to make everyone feel festive. To her children she was known as “Mom” and to her grandchildren she was “Grammy or Gee.” Her children and grandchildren loved her immensely and cherished every moment they were able to spend with her. She was a strong, passionate, hard-working woman, who was a role model to all of her family and friends. Annmarie is survived by her husband, Gregg Phillips; her children, Jennifer DeSantis, Amanda Hull and Greggory Hull (wife Bethany Sedney Hull); grandchildren, Brandon Kaminski (wife Kaylee Kaminski), Ravyn DeSantis, Justin Hull, Marlei DeSantis, Brynley Hull, baby on the way Hadley Hull; her sisters, Julie Kerr Fuller (husband Chuck Fuller), Barbara Gdanetz (husband Mark Gdanetz) all of Erie. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and are invited to a prayer service there on Monday at 12:45 PM, followed by a 1:30 PM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401West 38th St. Interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Annmarie’s name to the Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Ave/AC312 Cleveland, OH 44195.
