Obituary of Arden A. Jones

Arden A. Jones Arden A. Jones, age 99, of Erie, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, due to complications of COVID 19. Arden was born on March 3, 1923, in Cambridge Springs, PA, the son of the late Fred and Wealthie Wilcox Jones. He was a graduate of Cambridge Springs H.S. Arden served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was employed at Byrd Tool and Mold for 17 years and retired from CompTech. He was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (of 60 yrs.), four brothers: Olaf, Merril, Toral, Meridith, one sister Doris “Elthea” Gilmore (Frank, deceased), one daughter JoAnn Allamon, and one grandson Steven Allamon. He is survived by one son James R. Jones (Jeanne) of Erie, four grandsons: Todd Jones of Erie, James Jones, Jr. (Kristen) of TX, Michael Allamon, Jeffrey Allamon (Tina) both of NC, one son-in-law Donald Allamon of NC, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4 pm until time of service there at 7 pm. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506 or to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
