Obituary of Eric Charles Fitzpatrick

Eric Charles Fitzpatrick Eric “Rick” C. Fitzpatrick, age 61, of Girard Twp., passed away after a brief illness at his residence on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 4, 1961 in Erie, the son of Robert Gehrlein and the late Judith Gehrlein. He was a 1980 graduate of McDowell H.S. and was employed at GE/Wabtec. Eric was a member of the Erie Skeet Club and the Walnut Creek Rifle Range. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, car/truck enthusiast, and fishing. Eric is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Terri Lynn Schultz Fitzpatrick, two children; Joshua James Fitzpatrick (Julia) of Millcreek, Katie Carolyn Fitzpatrick of Girard, two brothers; Robert Fitzpatrick (Pam) and Matt Gehrlein both of Erie, one sister Brynn Longenecker (Dan Waugaman) of Erie, many nieces and nephews who always called him “Uncle Ricky”, and many close friends. The family will remember Eric as an extraordinary and kind individual. The family would like to thank the Family Hospice for their loving care. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 4 p.m. Private interment.
