Obituary of Joyce E Shaner

Joyce E Shaner, 93, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at Edinboro Manor. She was born in Warren, PA on September 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Raymond A. and Marie J. (Birk) Rehm. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Shaner Jr. in 1996 and two grandchildren, Stephen P. Shaner in 2017 and Colleen R. Shaner in 2022. Joyce was a longtime member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered with the Lydia Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Erie Symphonic Singers and also loved playing the organ. Along with her husband, they were avid boaters and enjoyed their time at Presque Isle Marina. She is survived by her three children, Ronald D. Shaner of Ocala, FL, Timothy C. (Sandi) Shaner of McKean, PA and Pamela S. Francis (Dana Andrews) Of Edinboro, PA; six grandchildren, Ann Fabrizio, Eric Shaner, Lacey Shaner, Dan Francis, Doug Francis and Mike Francis and six great-grandchildren, Jude, Jonah, Gage, Nina, Gino and Remi. The family would like to thank the staff of Edinboro Manor for the care and compassion provided to their mother for the last 5 ½ years. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and are invited to a service there on Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM.
