Obituary of Joan M. Gibbs

Joan M. McCracken Gibbs Joan M. McCracken Gibbs, age 88, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. She was born in Erie on September 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Francis M. and Edna Hellyer McCracken. Joan was employed at Rondale Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Aide, Organ Supply, and was a crossing guard for the Millcreek Twp. School District. She was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club and First Christian Church. She enjoyed bingo, card and board games, and collecting elephant figurines. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Gibbs, three daughters; Darlene Ann Gibbs, TammiRae Crossley, Terriann Rieger, one son Richard H. Gibbs, and one sister Frances Shreve. She is survived by her children: Charlotte Carlson (Kip), Frances Scully (John), Raymond Gibbs (Susan), Brenda Cifelli (Chris), daughter-in-law Mary Lou Gibbs, son-in-law John Rieger, two sisters; Marylou Kowalski, Linda Hurlbert, 16 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited to the committal service at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Thursday, July 14 at 10:00 am. Procession will start at the main office. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
