Obituary of Dolores Amelia Gibb

Dolores Amelia Peters Gibb Dolores Gibb, age 95, of Buena Park, CA, passed away on July 30, 2022, in Fullerton CA. Dolores was born July 15, 1927, in Erie, PA to Katherine and Jacob Peters. She grew up in Girard and Erie and was a graduate of Academy High School, class of 1946, located in Erie, PA. She married the love of her life George H. Gibb on August 4, 1951, in Erie PA. Dolores and George moved to Southern California in 1955 and eventually started a family. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Long Beach in 1965 and a Masters of Sciences degree in Library Science from California State University, Fullerton in 1979. She taught elementary school in both Los Angeles County and Orange County school districts. She was an avid reader and was very active in University Women, The Literary Guild and Men of Mystery Authors in Orange County, CA. She had a lifelong passion for travel; she traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa. She was preceded in death by her parents Katherine and Jacob, her husband George Gibb, brother Robert Peters, and brother and sister in-law Allen and Wilma Cannon. She is survived by her son Robert Gibb (Kathy) of Sandia Park, New Mexico and daughter Victoria Peterson (Bill) of Olympia Washington, her beloved grandchildren: Alexander Peterson, Katherine Peterson, Tiffany Gibb, Eleanor Peterson, Rebecca Gibb, brother Jacob Peters and wife Ann Peters, and other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1:00 P.M. Interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 8:30 A.M.
