Obituary of Debra S Kaliszewski

Debra Sue Kaliszewski (Stazer), age 53, passed away September 26, 2022, surrounded by her children, after a brief battle with pneumonia. Born to William and Andrea Spierling in Erie Pennsylvania on November 2, 1968 as Debra Sue Spierling. She spent her life residing in Erie, graduating from McDowell in 1986.
Debi worked as a server and bartender for years at a number of establishments including the Sportsman Club, The Plymouth Tavern, The Pittsburgh Inn, and Presque Isle Bar and Grill where many knew her as D.K. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Debi loved gardening and spending time outside decorating her yard. She enjoyed crafting, thrifting, and repurposing items. She truly could find beauty in anything and loved expressing that through her art. Debi also enjoyed being a member of the Moose Cub and playing cornhole whenever she could. She was truly one of a kind and marched to the beat of her own drum. She loved fiercely and her family meant everything to her.
Debi was the daughter of William and Andrea Spierling, both of Erie. Sister of Darcy Chandler, Nicole Spierling, and William (Billy) Spierling. Mother to Miranda Stazer, Tyler Stazer, and Alex Kaliszewski all of Erie. She held the title of best Nana to Amelia Kaliszewski, Skyler Stazer, and Aiden Stazer. And was a long-term partner of Jamison Taylor, also of Erie. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Steve and Helen Protyniak and her aunts, Carole Perry, Janet Shoop, and Elaine Protyniak.
A memorial service will be held at Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Saturday October 1, 2022 from 12-3 pm. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
