Obituary of Barbara Gebhardt

Barbara "Barb" Curtze Gebhardt Barbara "Barb" Gebhardt, age 81, of Millcreek Twp., died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on April 11, 1929, the daughter of the late, Walter A. and Ruth H. Curtze. She was a member of First Alliance Church, Bible Ambassadors, DAR, the Hamot Aid Society, Junior League, and Erie Northfield League. She was a Den Leader for the Cub Scouts and a Brownie Leader for the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Gordon J. Gebhardt, two sons; Gregory J. Gebhardt (Sue) of Houston, TX, Scott C. Gebhardt (Jamie), of Harrisburg, PA, one daughter, Margaret E. Heffer (Rev. Timothy), of Tumwater, WA, one sister, Meta C. Meacham, of Erie, her grandchildren: Michele Kemper, Laura Beth Gebhardt, Gareth J. Gebhardt, Holly Gebhardt, Cody Heffer, Paige Heffer, and one great-grandchild, Gregory Josiah Kemper. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for the memorial service. Private burial at Erie Cemetery. The family would like to especially thank Terrie and Betty from the VNA Hospice and also Sherry Yeager from the Regional Cancer Center for all their care and concern.
