Christopher “Chris” Carter
On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Christopher Lynn Carter, of Fairview Twp., loving husband of 42 years and father of three, passed away at age 70. Chris was born at an Army base in Colorado Springs, CO and raised in East Pittsburgh, PA. After serving in the US Coast Guard as the top electrician in his class, he attended the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a physical therapist for more than 30 years and retired to farming in Fairview, PA.
Over the years Chris touched so many lives. He was a beloved ice hockey coach and goalie, a talented pit crew mechanic, an active member of his church, a certified scuba diver, and the guy who could fix anything. He was known to stop and help anyone and everyone, regardless of what he was doing. He loved his family and he loved dogs.
Chris was preceded in passing by his parents, Rufus Carter and Charlotte Parkus Carter, and more than 50 pets, including his favorite frisbee-loving pup, Vicki Stix. He is survived by his wife, Trudy, his children, Sarah Carter, MD,, Daniel Carter and Carolyn “Foo Carter” Kish and her husband Jeremy Kish, as well as his sister, Joy Lynne Carter.
Services will be held by Pastor Darin Alvis at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3642 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506 on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers his family asks you to show kindness to someone in need, and if you have the means, make a donation to Chosen Mission Project, 3638 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
