Obituary of Nancy R. Zimmerman

Nancy R. Zimmerman On November 4, 2022, Nancy R. Zimmerman, age 81, was surrounded by her children when she passed from this life to a far more perfect one. She was born on October 4, 1941 in Pontiac, MI, to Robert and Nell Lougheed, parents whom she adored. Nancy attended Evangel College in Missouri. She studied music and childhood education before marrying Ray Zimmerman, of Erie, PA in 1970. Nancy was an accomplished piano player and seamstress but her most beloved role was that of being a mother. Boasting great penmanship, Nancy sent thousands of cards for any and every occasion to many people. She expressed words of encouragement, love, appreciation, and prayer. She had a great reliance on God, and in her sufferings and trials, she spoke of him as her “Rock”. Nancy was loyal, virtuous, generous, fiercely independent, and beautiful to the very end. Her love of Jesus and her family was enduring and we will carry her in our hearts forever. Nancy was preceded in death by Ray Zimmerman and is survived by her brother, David Lougheed, her children: Jonathan Zimmerman (Becky), Elicia Zimmerman, Nathaniel Zimmerman (Sarah), and eight grandchildren: Abbey, Daniel, Aidan, Liam, Cleo, Zechariah, Samuel, and Naomi. Visitation will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11 am until time of the Funeral Service there at 1 pm. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
