Vladimir Nikolaevich Burbel passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023—surrounded by his close family in Erie, Pennsylvania. Vladimir was born on February 26, 1951 in the former Soviet Union (Kazakhstan). He grew up with three brothers—Alexander, Sergey, and Victor—all of whom he is survived by. He immigrated to the United States in 1993 and soon thereafter began working as a machine operator at Flex-Y-Plan Industries in Erie. Those who had the privilege of knowing Vladimir knew that he was an incredibly kind and optimistic man. He was a devout Christian who revered God in a way that was admirable to everyone around him. Vladimir was heavily involved in his local Russian-Ukrainian Baptist church; he was adored and respected by his community. His hobbies included fishing, fixing cars, and taking road trips. He was a loyal friend and a true family man. He loved his family more than anything else in the world and cared for them in a limitless and unconditional way. He is survived by his wife—Aleksandra; his daughter and son-in-law—Svetlana (Jessica) and Yuriy Perederiy; and his two grandchildren—Olga and Andrew. He passed unexpectedly but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
