Glenn Albert Soles
Glenn “Albie” Albert Soles, age 79, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Greensburg, PA on September 4, 1943, the son of the late Glenn E. and Dorothy Anderson Soles. He was a 1962 graduate of Academy H.S. and served in the National Guard from 1962-1968.
He was employed at Hammermill Paper Co. for 25 years and for 25 years he was the owner of Glenn’s Snowplowing and Lawn Maintenance.
He was a member of Elmwood and Eastminster Churches, LPAC, East Erie Moose Club, the Millcreek Sportsman’s Club, the American Legion Post 773, a member of the Erepa Grotto, a 50-year member of the Tyrian-Commonwealth Lodge #362 (32nd degree Master Mason), a 50-year member of the Erie Scottish Rite, a 50-year member of the Zem Zem Shrine (Camel Herders and Arab Patrol), and the Erie County Shrine Club.
Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at camp, golfing, following his grandkids in their sports where he was known as “grandpa” to many team members.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister at childbirth.
He is survived by his former wife and friend Linda E. Parson Soles, his children; Kevin A. Soles (Carolyn), Marcia E. Berarducci (Frank), four grandchildren: Alexa and Jacob Soles, Christopher and Nicholas Glenn Berarducci.
Friends may attend a Celebration of Life for Glenn at the Erie Zem Zem Shrine Club, 2525 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506 on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 11 am until 3 pm. Masonic funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a eulogy, military honors, and then the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505, or the Scholarship Foundation of Erie Scottish Rite Bodies, PO Box 1364, Erie, PA 16512.,
