James “Jim” A. Hill
James (Jim) A. Hill, a resident of Coral Gables, Florida, passed away March 8, 2023. He was born in Erie, PA on June 21, 1956. Jim grew up in Belle Valley and graduated from McDowell High School. He attended and graduated from Penn State University, Main Campus, with a degree in hospital administration, after completing an internship in epidemiology at the CDC in Atlanta. He became an avid Penn State Football fan for life from his Penn State experience.
Jim moved with his mother and brother, John Hill, to Miami, Florida, where Jim completed his nursing degree and worked as a nurse specializing in geriatric care for over thirty years.
Jim was an enthusiastic amateur photographer, specializing in church architecture photos. He was also a devout Catholic who engaged in regular personal scriptural study. He enjoyed classical music, the Christmas holiday, and volunteering at the Missionaries of Charity Mother Theresa (homeless shelter). He loved more than anything regular trips to Disney World, Epcot Center, and Bok Gardens in Florida.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian G. Hill of Erie, PA., his sister, Patricia A. Hill of Austin, TX., his brother H. Daniel Hill III (Colleen McCarthy) of Erie, PA., his brother Dr. John Hill of Erie, PA., his nephew, John William Hill (Shannon Hill) of Fairfield, CT. and his niece, Ellen O’Connor Hill of Erie, PA. The family sincerely thanks Hospice @ North Shore Hospital in Florida and friends who supported Jim during his illness.
