Obituary of Scott F. Jares

Scott F. Jares In the early morning hours of Friday, March 17, 2023, Scott Jares was reunited with the love of his life, Wendy (Johnson) Jares. Scott passed away at UPMC-Hamot shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. He was born in Erie on October 26, 1961, to the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Cabaday) Jares. Scott was a roofer by trade working for various local contractors. He also worked in the maintenance department at the Millcreek Mall. He was a board member at the Fulton Athletic Club, where you could find him socializing with friends. Scott enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns. During baseball season, Scott would enjoy sitting on the front porch listening to the Cleveland Indians on the radio. After Wendy passed away Scott found inner peace fishing at the south pier. Beside his parents and wife, Scott was preceded in death by an infant sister Bonita, two brothers; Tom and David, his nephew Christopher Stark, two nieces Kelly and Erica Jares, and his brother-in-law Gary Smith. He will be sadly missed by his son Corey, two sisters; Susan (Tom) Stark and Jean Smith with whom he lived. Two brothers; Tim (Gail) Jares and Mark (Mary) Jares, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UPMC- Hamot for their compassionate care of Scott. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, Pa 16506 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
