Obituary of Hyun Soon Erdely

Hyun “Kim” Soon (Yu) Erdely, 83, of Millcreek Twp., passed away at home on Wednesday May 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. She was born in Chonnam-Do, Korea on June 28, 1939, a daughter of the late, Yong Chun and Jom Ye (Kim) Yu. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl J. Erdely in 2008. Kim was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. She was a very strong woman who was known for her wonderful cooking and attempt to feed the world. Kim had the greenest thumb, she enjoyed gardening and flowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and was so very proud of them. She is survived by her children, Judy (Brian) Heberle of Millcreek, Terry (Sue) Erdely of Erie and Patrick Erdely of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Alexis (Matt), Michaella, Sydney, Meghan (Kyle), Erin, Jacob, Amber and Brandon and many siblings. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday May 7, 2023 from 2:00PM to 6:00 PM and are invited to a prayer service there on Monday morning at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2801 W 6th St. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
