Obituary of Richard Proctor

Richard “Dick” Proctor Richard “Dick” Proctor, age 92, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at UPMC-Hamot after a brief illness. He was born on June 25, 1931 in Corry, PA, the son of the late Leon and Mabel Hodge Proctor. Dick served in the US Army and was employed at Bucyrus Erie. He was a member of Weis Library United Methodist Church. During the church’s ministry he belonged to a number of singing groups including; The Millfair Four, The Agape Singers, and the Touch of Love. He enjoyed singing, time with his family, and woodworking. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Collins Proctor, a son Douglas Proctor, one sister and her husband, Mildred Donor (Elmer), and two brothers; Lavern and Lloyd Proctor. He is survived by one daughter Jill McGee (Rich) of Fairview, one sister BJ Wurst (Roger), three grandchildren; Andrea Britton (Adam) of VA, Amy McGee of Pittsburgh, and Joshua McGee of Fairview. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2 pm until the time of service at 4 pm. Private interment at Weis Library Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veteran Solutions, 2323 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506 or to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
